I am currently using both desks at the moment as my Dr's are making us change to Dexcon. I find the dexcon not as accurate as the freestyle i much prefer the freestyle 2 by far .Has anyone else tried both.

Hi,

I use the Libre 2+ now (& used previous incarnations.)
I’ve tried the Dexcom 6 & found it just as reliable.
But personally preferred the lower profile when sited to the body of the Libres along with the versatility using 3rd party apps with certain gadgets like a watch to monitor my BG?

I have used the libre 2 plus and Dexcom one +- I self fund, I started with libre 2 plus, but had a few issues and did the trial for the Dexcom one +, then switched. It took me a while to get used to the different visuals of the graphs, but I personally find the dexcom more accurate, especially as you can calibrate it if its not close to your finger prick tests, which you cant do on the libre. I much prefer the dexcom.

I'm just about to start day 10 of my first Dexcom One+ and it's so much better than the last year's worth of Libre2/2+.

It's obviously a very small sample size I'm comparing against the libres, but certainly the accuracy of the Dexcom One+ has remained very good over the sensor life while it would have diverged massively with the libre2/2+ after a day or two, while I've had a few 15min delays in connection (which may be due to phone), I've also not suffered from multi-hour drop outs as I would with the libre (which were the libre as it was undetectable with a BLE scanner at this point).

I'm very pleased to have moved over. The relative accuracy appears to be a very personal thing, for some people the libre2+ works well, it's just that I'm (consistently) not one of those people. YMMV.

How have you got on with the Dexcon ? As I am thinking of funding myself.

I should chip in and say that aside from a hiccup last night (which was about 15h after putting a new sensor on) the Dexcom One+ is pretty spot on where the Libre2+ would be so far out as to be unusable. The sensor which was out last night is now reading accurately again after a 6h long hiccup (which I'd not noticed in the previous 2 sensors.)

What's interesting is that there was a period of time with the early libre2 devices where they were half reasonable and didn't need much calibration, there was a large change in my calibration needs a month or so after I switched to the libre2+.

So basically it may change as the manufacturers appear to perform running changes to something - whether the active element or the calibration code, who knows.
