Trying to pair a new transmitter and sensor but the app seems to have frozen, sometimes just get a white screen with Dexcom One and nothing else or I get the screen ‘pair new transmitter’ but nothing happens when I click on it. Have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but no different. I’ve messaged Dexcom but not got back to me yet, anyone else having similar issues?

Hi,

What I know is with Bluetooth pairing of any sensor in Android it’s like after so many sensors BT gets confused? (“Corrupted.”)
I periodically go into systems apps & clear the BT cache… after about 3 or 4 sensors. I kind of know when it’s going to happen during a start up.
I use Libre.

From memory, Dexcom uses a code input to set the sensor up? (Seem to remember when I tried the G6.)

I use an iPhone15 and Dexcom 7. I regularly delete all old Dexcom sensor codes from my Bluetooth App. But not sure if this makes a difference.

It’s my firm view that any repetitive paring of a device like ear buds or watch, maybe to the car stereo doesn’t cause an issue.
I feel the problem can arise with the BT “handshake” of yet another sensor with a subtle nuance in the code?
A little like recognising someone at a distance or in a dark night club, then realising it’s not them. (To loosely draw an analogy.)

Your not doing any harm removing the old not used codes… :)

Have a look at this … for the G6, but the One is based on the G6 with separate sensor and transmitter. With the G7 and One+ the transmitter is integrated with the sensor.

My app seems to have stopped working for me now as well. This is all I get! IMG_2792.png

When I was trialing the G6 it stopped working on the 7th or 8th day?

I was used to using Bluetooth bridges with the libre one back then. (Now & then the Miaomiao “spoon” scanner could drift.)
So I gave the G6 transmitter a little push into the sensor cradle on my arm, felt a little click & it started working.
It looked like the transmitter wasn’t quite making the circuit…

A little like having a torch & after a little while you need to rattle or tap the battery compartment when the light becomes intermittent? Normally it’s time to clean the contacts & line the battery tubing with a thin piece on paper to keep the double AAs in line…

Did as you suggested and cleared the BT cache and it seems to have worked, thank you. Am now getting the normal screen together with alarms yet, when I look at my BT devices it says DexcomKF not connected ‍♀️ (cannot recall it showing ‘KF’ before, not sure what that means)??

This is an iPhone?

How far apart does the Dexcom reading get normally picked up by your phone & show on your graph?

My Dexcom One+ only connects to my iPhone when it wants to send a reading - every five minutes. The Dexcom Bluetooth DX0230 says not connected and suddenly connects if you wait 5 minutes and then disconnects again.

I use DexcomOne and it’s always been a constant connection as far as I’m aware

This is what I thought, same principle as wireless ear phones when they wake up there is a recognised “handshake” on the devices then the data is sent then registered on the graph. (In the sensor’s case.)
Though in some sensor apps if this hasn’t happened for 15 or 20 minutes, a warning notification or alarm will sound…

That’s a little above my head, i wouldn’t call myself technically illiterate but familiar with the basics

Sorry, it wasn’t my intention to bamboozle.. or undermine any technical understanding on your part.
I was agreeing with @Art Of Flowers .

How is your Dexcom graph looking now @Pat H ? Is it still getting readings.

I finally got the Dexcom One+ App to work on my Apple Watch - Series 7 41mm. Previously, I kept getting an error message "Check Dexcom Mobile app on your iPhone". It communicates with your phone, not directly to the CGM.

I fixed it by deleting the Dexcom One+ app on my Apple Watch and using the App Store on my watch I reinstalled it. You can also use Dexcom as a complication on the watch - it just opens up the Dexcom App on the watch so you can see your current glucose plus a graph of previous readings, which you can toggle between 1Hr, 3Hr and 6Hr.
