Sorry if this has been posted before, but I recently received a free Dexcom ONE+ CGM (just paid the £4.99 shipping).

The Dexcom ONE+ sensors measure glucose levels for 10 days and come with a pre-loaded auto-applicator.

It just says you need be 2 years of age or older and have diabetes (doesn't say what type).

This could be useful for someone who's thinking of trying a CGM, effectively for free.

Thanks! I just woke up to find my new Libre2 sensor had failed overnight so have ordered a replacement and have signed up for the free trial of the Dexcom One+. The 10-day sensor life is a bit of a shame though.

They allow you to extend for 12hrs so over 3 sensors you can get a day and a half extra, if you use the subscription on Dexcoms website for the One+ it is only £79 for 3 sensors, compared to Libre's £103.48 for the same amount of days coverage. Personally I now prefer the Dexcom after using both.

Luckily I do have a Samsung, but the app warns against upfrading to Android 15. Hopefully they'll have sorted that by the next OS release as I don't intend to buy another, older phone just for that.

Tut! Well that worked well - for about 5 minutes . I read the instructions, applied the sensor to my abdomen. Paired successfully (if a little slowly) and then the warmup started. After about 5 minutes it just failed. I removed it with difficulty and emailed Dexcom - not a good start. Oh, and to add insult to injury the filament is still embedded in me: I've applied a magnesium sulphate coated plaster and will retrieve it overnight.

That's not good. I'd definitely contact Dexcom (via a webform, if possible) to get a replacement. Abbot are normally good with that, so hopefully Dexcom will be too. I've got a few days left on my ONE+, and although I prefer the Libre, it's been fine.

I got a follow up email from a named contact there so I contacted them, CC the support team. I'm sure I'll hear something quickly, otherwise I'll make use off your suggestion. My replacement Libre2 is apparently on its way from Abbott, and they want the old one back Maybe my skin is just too thick!

I'm sure you will. Abbott should send you a prepaid envelope to send it back. They did with me.

So, after another problem with a new self-funded Libre2 sensor I've switched over to Dexcom (One+). Although the Libre2 paired successfully, getting the flippin' thing to make it past warmup couldn't be achieved, so rather than go through the hassle of yet another Abbott return I've written it off.

By contrast the Dexcom One+ attached successfully (to my arm this time) and warmed up in 30 minutes. Sent data straightaway and all looks good.

From looking around the 'net it seems that a lot of people are having Libre2 problems and the app is starting to look a bit suspect. It'd be shame if manufacturers throw money at hardware then let it down by not keeping up with the app. The looming Android 15 is apparently a concern and hopefully they'll get updates done in time.

My Dexcom One+ has now expired. I have a Libre2 Plus to use next, which I'll probably keep for Christmas (to help me keep being a good boy). I prefer the Libre app, though. The Dexcom app seems a bit stingy with colour. And when it loses the Bluetooth connection it doesn't scan using NFC like the Libre does. At least one made it through your thick skin!

Have you tried the Dexcom Clarity web app? There's quite a lot of info on there.

The Libre app is very appealing and makes good use of colour, I agree. I'll be interested to see how get on with it - are you an Android user? You're right about the lack of NFC - no more weird positioning of my phone under my armpit - although if I bring the phone close to the sensor it will beep - curious...As regards thick skin, I wonder if the manufacturers allow for that?

The Clarity app is good, and I'm also using Dexcom Follow app on the iPad.

Yes, an Android user: Pixel 6. The LibreView app (similar to Clarity) is good too.
