I've been using Dexcom G5 for a few years and rarely have one that stings when I insert it. Today it really hurt and hours later it's still stinging. Seems to be reading ok though. Anyone else had a 'stinger' and did the pain ease eventually ??

Hi @Sharrryn, I admit to not using Dexcom that often but have had a sting or two in the past. Similarly some needle inserts from my pump hurt going in and for a day or two afterwards. I figure sometimes we hit a nerve and slight movement keeps the nerve stirred up until either the cannula is removed or some swelling builds up to push nerve and cannula part.
Now coming from Australia, I know that way up north we have very nasty jellyfish - and vinegar is the treatment for a sting from those (and ambulance, hospital etc ).
Best Wishes on recovering suffering from an annoying but lesser sting !!

Thanks. Yes I'm an Aussie as well. There are far worse stings than a Dexcom or needle. ;) Still annoying though.
