Hi guys
I have just placed anorder for an Alert wristband on the Diabetes UK website.
If you havent seen it, its a wristband with an alert phone number to ring in case of sudden colapse or somehting worse, anyway I thought for £6 plus p&p of £3-95 that it was a good idea for such a reasonable amount. Below are listed what you get.

What’s so good about it?
Unique ID for each wearer
1 years FREE Alert ID service
Adjustable and removable
Extremely visible for instant alert in an emergency
24 hour a day Incident Response Centre to relay medical information and contact next of kin

Sounds excellent, so I thought I would check out the terms and condidtions as you do, but the T&C page would not open so I carried on with my order.

I went to Alerts homepage http://www.alertid.co.uk/service-explanation.php
and read the T&C's and was shocked to see that you had to pay
an initial set up fee of £25 and an annual fee every year after.
From Alert ID's website.
Our Service and Fees Explained
First Time Registration Fee £25.00
Includes 1 Year Complimentary Registration and 3 Products of your choice
Thereafter Annual Family Re-Registration fee £11.75
Any number of ID Devices can be covered
Access to 24/7 Emergency Response Service Free each year

I though I had better warn other buyers to check this out before you purchase.
I have sent an e-mail to Alert ID seeking clarification of these T&C's but I am dissapointed that this was not made clear in the origional advertisement.
I will keep youu all posted as soon as I receive a reply from Alert Id.

Think you will find the DCUK has differing T&c's

As you have pointed out. Alertid's 25.00 includes 3 products, be it wrist bands or keyrings etc

Where as DCUK's is 1 product with 1 years service

John
Thank you so much for noticing this anomaly.
Alert ID has never had a joining fee of any sort ever. I don’t know how this got there but it has and very plainly as you point out.
I have already sent the proper version over to the web designers to upload first thing next week.
We once had a set of three ID Devices for Riding for £25.00 but that is the only reference to £25.00 that I know of.
Thanks again and let me assure you that there is no joining fee at all.
Kind regards

Andy Keats
