Diabetes and Antihistamines

I am a recently diagnosed T1 and, prior to diagnosis, I had to take a daily dose of antihistamine for an allergy to strong sunlight whilst on holiday abroad. If I don't have the antihistamines I will be fine for a few days in the sun but then the allergy will start and I will have to stay indoors. Does anyone out there have any experience of taking antihistamines while on Levemir and Novorapid? Is it OK? I will ask my consultant when I next see him but that is not for another few weeks and I would like to have some feedback from other diabetics on insulin before I raise it with him. TIA. Tracy

Although I do not inject insulin, I do take several meds to treat my T2 including a daily injection of Victoza. I also take a daily Telfast (fexofenadine 120mg) which is a long acting powerful antihistamine. I looked through the leaflet for you and there is no mention of any insulins or other anti diabetes treatments.

I take fexofenadine (180mg) too, and use levemir and novorapid, like Hobs said there is no mention of diabetes on the leaflet, I've not noticed any effect on blood sugar.
