Type 1 Diabetes and body piercing.

Hi :)
I have type 1 diabetes (for 17 years) and have gotten quite a few body piercings over the years from eyebrows, hips, neck and tragus. I am wondering if this is OK for a diabetic to do with good blood sugar control as my mum always freaks out when I get them saying 'you'll have to watch your diabetes now' :/

I have (used to have) quite a few myself, and the only thing I've ever been told to watch is the healing process as diabetes can slow the healing of wounds. Other than that I have never noticed it having any impact on my BG levels or anything.

Thank you :) same I have had no problems, just wondered if an infection would cause a rise in BG levels?
