Type 2
Hi everyone I am having serious trouble with my teeth and my oral health due in part to high blood sugar effect of type 2 diabetes. My dentist says that I need to brush more to cure the gum disease no medication was prescribed, the consequence is more of my teeth are now loosened and 1or 2 have fallen out. Anyone out there experiencing the same problems

OUCH Les89 that sounds awful. I don't have that problem but it makes my teeth ache just thinking about it!

I have trouble with receding gums. I have lost all my baxk teeth but that was years ago and it seems to be all the girls iny family that had the problem so i doubt if that was diabetic related. The receding gums is a very recent problem so could be connected to being diabetic

I'm type 1 and I'm having the same problem u need to see a gum specialist but they are expensive it's around £140-160 an hr in my area! They do deep cleaning and will prevent the gum from bleeding! The problem is u will need quite a lot of sessions I go to London for mine and have been going since Xmas! If u don't get it under control u will loose most teeth! So b careful and do ur best to control sugars and spend 20 mins a day brushing morning and night and buy special little brushes called tipi brushes to clean in between the teeth and concentrate on the gum line more than any where else! Hope that helps I feel ur pain
