Hey all,

Just wanted to post this topic, kind of as a warning to people taking exams with a little story!

Last year I was taking my AS level exams.. I hadn't been getting on well with one of my subjects (sociology!) But because of my determination to pass I tried my hardest, and toward the end of the year I was getting good results in mock papers etc.

I had two exams on different days, the first I did really well, and I thought it had gone as well as it could have.

On the day of the second exam, I didn't eat my lunch, as I was nervous, (the exam straddled lunch time) I was silly not to check my levels and during the exam I suddenly felt a hypo coming on.

Because of this my mind went blank and I literally filled in about 20% of the exam.

I ended up getting a D because I was too scared to tell anyone when I was in the exam. (the other exam was what saved me from getting a worse grade)

I just wanted to stress how important it is to let someone know when you're having a hypo especially in an exam because I can't change that now, and do test before an exam too.

I've never really told anyone that before, I find it hard to talk about, so thanks for listening

I'm retired now, but was a swecondary school teacher for nearly all my working life. I invigilated many examsand can say that arrangements can be made for students to retake papers if they are taken ill.

so any students out there, tell your teacherss or instructors if you have a problem. they are on your side.

I was thinking about asking someone about retaking, but I don't remember much of the subject now so it wouldn't be worth it :/
