Diabetes and liver

The GT level should be up to 65iu/L and ALT up to 53iu/L

This is why your doctor is arranging a scan for you. One of the things it is a marker for is a fatty liver, which most of us T2 diabetics have due to insulin resistance, high glucose and high insulin levels. (They all come hand in hand).

Thanks all. Scan results back today and I have.....Fatty liver!!! Feel pretty down, got to have a proper chat with doc tomorrow but am pretty worried I have to say

Please don't worry. I call that a successful result. It could have been serious liver damage, and it isn't. You can get rid of the fatty liver, and a very low carb diet will help enormously, along with fasting or a very low calorie diet for a few weeks.
