Hi Akram,

These links are informative thanks. Though I am not a Muslim myself. I always understood that anyone sick or diabetic was exempt from fasting during Ramadan...

Though I can't really see any major issue for a healthy diabetic with a little planing & insulin adjustment should they so wish to observe.
There is no reason a diabetic can't have a little normality now & again.. ! ;)

Have a good Ramadan..

Akram I think you can be excused from fasting for medical reasons, like pregnant women can. Have a word with your Imam.

I understand you wanting to fast. Is there a Muslim friend who has diabetes who you can talk to? If so, maybe you could support each other during Ramadan?

yeah thats Good To do that :) ., i will start to make report after my search about how to fast and how to control it through all types of Insulin ( lantos - levemir - insulatard - mixtard - nonvo - apidra - humolog - )
and for Pumper also :)

I have fasted in the past whilst on insulin I used to take my lantus in split dose and my novo rapid when I opened my fast and closed leaving my BG it between 9-10 it used to drop to about 6 by the time I would open it after 16 hours. However I think talking to a health care professional would be better they can guide and help you along :-)

I started fasting with my novamix30, but what i didnt do was make sure that it was high like you suggested. I acctually got it down to 3 before i started to worry, something i read that brings up the bs level. The problem i have is that once i am woken up for food,i am not hungry.
