diabetes and sugar intake

Selina

Newbie
Anyone know why, (i'm type 1 by the way) i can eat as many sweet things as i like and my BS always return to 'normal' on thier own?

They aren't returning on their own, they're being dealt with by your insulin injections

You also need to consider the spike caused by that sugar before they return to normal that you may well be missing, any large spike is potentially damaging

Hi Selina...quick question, when were you diagnosed? the only thing I can think of would be the "honeymoon effect".

What kind of insulin are you on? If basal/bolus...then it could be your basal injections having an impact...although it doesn't usually have that big an effect!

I think Selina wants us to suggest that she isn't actually diabetic, try skipping an injection and see if you can still process sugar
