Diabetes and Voice

I doubt if its related - I have much more vocal confidence since I was diagnosed - I sing with three choirs, & preach the Gospel.

Perhaps you are sleepy after eating & it has that effect.

If you are worried about this maybe you should ask your doctor to check your throat and perhaps have a swallowing reflex test.

Does your medication include either Avandia (rosiglitazone) or Actos (pioglitazone)?
Constriction of the larynx leading to loss of voice is one of the many nasty side effects of the glitazone family of oral meds, although much less common than the other side effects. I experienced this when taking Avandia and it disappeared as soon as I stopped taking it.

 I hope you don't mean your voice disappeared. Sorry just need a laugh every now and again.

On a serious note maybe check with the GP about thyroid and the larynx. My sister has thyroid problems and loses her voice every so often. As diabetes and thyroid are supposedly related in some way (as told by my GP) I suggest maybe getting it checked out.
