Diabetes at altitude!

Hi there,

A very random query, but I thought I'd post on the offchance that anyone has any experience of this.

My husband is thinking of applying for a job that would involve us all moving to a city at very high altitude for several years (Bogota in Colombia). I was just wondering if this would have any effect on blood sugar control/HbA1c readings etc? I know there can be issues at altitude with making enough red blood cells to transport sufficient oxygen around the body, and that cardiac problems can get worse. I'm borderline prediabetic (last HbA1c was 41). Would love any insights anyone could offer!
