[QUOTE="Granny_grump_, post: 2474271, member: 282121"] I to was on metformin about 10 years ago awful side effects one doctor who deals with diabetes at our surgery insisted I go on it again no b——y way the leg cramps were excruciating no matter what I did it was like a vice it took ages of stamping my feet rubbing calves no more Metformin for me. I spoke to another doctor and I’m on Gliclizide 80mg and no side effects but it’s not reducing my BG has I had hoped but I do believe if I can get the information on carbs protein and fat amounts I would give Keto a try but just remembered Keto caused gout in my left foot last time so I will have to do low carb. Finding it hard to to get all information I need to get my diet to work for me, has I said it’s been too long away from this site I don’t remember things like I used too, and making myself a prisoner in my own home for last 22months until recently hasn’t helped me at all is their a Low Carb site with right amounts of things to eat and what to avoid, and some recipes for a change of homemade soup salads omelette etcetera. There used to be lots of people on here with all kind of food ideas hope there are still lots still on here I’ve low carb cook books but find them with so many ingredients to buy too make them it’s too costly for one person there are Two other people to cook for in our bungalow one being our grandson on 12 hour shifts and quite fussy eater it makes things a lot more difficult at 75 years old easy put together foods can’t stand for long in kitchen these days with arthritis.
