Diabetes cure

Hiya, I would like to know if anyone has heard of a cure for Diabetes or heard of anybody that no longer suffers with the condition, I know we are told that it is incurable, but is it really ???

Hi, type1newbie, and welcome!

I'm afraid that the answer to your question, as I think you know is - at the moment, yes, it is incurable. Though lots of good brains are working on it, so who knows? it may be just around the corner.

However, don't give up hope - the oldest Type 1 living has had the beast for over 80 years - 83, I think. And I have a 90-year-old friend who's had it for 50 years and can still run rings round me! So don't despair - it is a d**n nuisance, but you will learn to cope with it very successfully, just as many people on here have.

And you've certainly come to the right place for help and advice. I'm Type 2, so not a lot of help to you, but lots of others will be.
