Went to gp yesterday for my blood test results and was sent to hospital as I only discovered on Monday am that I had gallstones I was sent to have a surgical assessment to be told they can flare up at any time I had to have different scans and chest xray and have now found out I have hiatus hernia so now its another worry. More op hospital appointments and something else to worry about and an operation to look forward to. Does anyone else suffer like this!

Yep whatt can I say the joys of diabetes! !, only 1 month into prognosis and have neuropathy (which I had had for some time but didnt realy want to know what it was and didnt seem to bad but then got a lot worse and now somtimes hurts) and found out 2 days ago it brought with it diabetice kidney disease/damage . And also have to go for a scan tomorow as the left hand side of my abdomen sticks out far further than the left although at this pion I cant real blame the diabetes for that till I know what it is ( must admit I am bricking it about tomorow and seeing what it is) . Oh and to add indignantly to injury (and I do mean injury) little jimmy no longer works properly  and why does every new tablet have to be one that causes diheria . I verry nearly had accident a couple of times and only just made it. I really had absolutly no idea of what diabetes did to its sufferers. Not impressed at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Punto, I'm the same, early June put on statins, end of June diagnosed with t2, I have high BP as well, discovered by accident had a very large left bollock, ( don't laugh, I was trying to show everyone it), doc sent me for scan, came back with build up with fluid, another scan and consultant next week to decided what kind of surgery I want( scary and slightly concerned with my wee or not so wee testical), and finally went for blood test yesterday for possible muscle damage in thighs due to statins. Off statins at the mo whilst being checked out. So I'm in the same boat, every thing seems to be happening all at once. I have learnt especially from this forum that you have to put your head up and just get on with it day at a time. Good luck to ya mate and please feel free to vent whilst we try and sort out our issues. Cheers Andy

I was diagnosed in January type 2 bs were 28 with meds metformin sr came down to 7then probs began, legs gave way in May still cant walk, stand get upstairs to bed use shower or toilet. Sleeping on sofa had continuous pain no feeling in feet, because house has lots of steps unable to get outside or have any kind of life. The joys of Diabetes 5 months of pain misery and immobility due to Neuropathy future looks very very bleak. I wonder if anyone out there has had similar and made some kind of recovery ? I need some hope I'm only 57

It seems to be one thing after another doesn't it. Whompa, keep me posted on the stomach bulge as I have the same, a bulge upper left near my ribs. I am off to see a gastroenterologist.

Turns out even after the scan they dont know what it is but atleast its not what I was thinking. Given it only arrived post diabetes I was afraid it was pancreas related. They said on scan that it looks fine but I have a very fatty live ( who'da guessed lol everything else is fat so why not my liver) and a cyst on my kidney but thats nowt to worry about. So all in all not too bad. Id get yours looked at though if nothing else it will give you peace of mind .
Good luck mate

Since being diagnosed last year with T2, I have got neuropathy in several toes, back ground retinopathy and now problems and pain with my gallbladder. A scan has shown a lot of stones and I am still waiting to hear from the hopspital following a GP referral - not sure how long this should take. My glucose levels are constantly higher than usual - could this be due to my gallstones does anyone know?

There seems to be a lot of people being diagnosed with type2 and gallstones ! There are a few topics on the subject.
Funnily enough I've had left sided tummy pain too but nothing shows up on tests and still got it now a year later..
GP says its not related to gallstones because wrong side but another doctor says it can be related? So who knows?
