Does anyone with Type 2 use a fixed on monitor? Would like to know is you do as nmy fingers are objecting to being pricked!

There are many Type 2 people with these. I recently got a Dexcom One+ CGM. They are quite useful.

There is a 14 day trial of the FreeStyle Libra 2.
The Dexcom One+ is the cheapest long term one to use if you fund it yourself.

Unless you have another issue with your fingers, finger pricking should not be an issue - many people with Type 1 had no choice but to finger prick many times a day for decades. In Libre's early days, we only qualified for Libre on the NHS if we pricked more than 10 times a day.

I found the secret was making sure my fingers are warm (I try to cuddle a cuppa before pricking), the prick depth is deep enough to get blood but not deep enough to bruise and prick the side of my finger.

Whilst CGMs are great, they can work out expensive. If you do decide to use them, the best way to get the value out of them is to remember that they are much more than a replacement for finger pricks. Their value is knowing what happens between the times when you check your BG (whether this is finger pricking or looking at LibreLink).

The Dexcom One+ costs £79 if you buy 3 or £229 if you buy 9 on a subscription, which is what I did. I think this makes it cheaper than the Libre 2 Plus.
