I do not have diabetes
This is the, why me factor in your life.

When I actually got a true diagnosis and my specialist endocrinologist told me what was going on with my body.
The words you have a rare condition, the rest didn't stick.
It is a sledgehammer, on top of all the symptoms you are struggling with.

You will get your head around it. As inertia to it and over thinking won't do it.
Yes, you feel ****. And if you can just do what you need to do, at a slow pace, it won't happen overnight.
Take it easy on yourself.
Take care.

So sorry you are struggling Neckarski_94 perhaps consider talking to someone professional. Type 1 is a huge strain on us mentally.
However, why are you constantly hungry? You shouldn’t be. We can still eat and be full afterwards. We are not managing Type 2 here but a diet that we can use insulin to sort. It takes practice, but can be done.

Hello @Neckarski_94
I am sorry you are struggling.
I too struggle mentally but my diabetes is not the cause.
I've in my 50th year of it and know what i'm doing.

It sounds odd but i have a type 1 friend and neighbour and we bounce off each other to a point where we believe we could set up a diabetes centre and help people with their care.
It can't happen obviously and its daft but we often talk about it.

Do you know a fellow type 1ist? as mine is a great help.

To share experiences, and we both have very different regimes, is fascinating.

I wish you well

Tony

I have no idea as to why I’m constantly hungry. I wish I knew. Maybe I’m not eating enough, Could be the insulin or maybe it’s just psychological.
I remember being ravenous after being diagnosed. I put it down to regaining the weight I had lost. Can't remember how much but something like 8 to 10 kgs.

Be kind to yourself. Figure out your favourite foods/meal and activities and schedule them in.
If you are newly diagnosed…T1DM takes a lot of getting your head round. Have you had a chance to do a diabetes management course yet?
Apart from the information given you will meet other people with Type 1, maybe a kindred spirit, maybe see how others are coping/not coping.
There’s a lot to figure out and it is draining.
Are you able to make use of as much tech to help as you can get your hands on?
Keep yourself safe and talk to those around you and the medical team looking after you.
I don’t just dislike diabetes, I hate it! And tell my husband so regularly.
Yesterday we went out, I had to sort out my blood sugar so I could drive safely..and he bought us lunch and me a box of chocolates. I eat them sparingly these days, as part of a meal.
I also snuck into two wool shops and bought myself some yarn.
Treat yourself to things if nobody else will.
Hope you are able to do just one thing to make yourself feel a bit better.

I’m not enjoying food at the moment. Eating is just a chore! I’m only doing it because I have to in order to survive! I used to enjoy food and I’ve always had a good appetite!

I’m doing a DAFNE in October!

I’m not having much luck on the tech front! CGMS don’t seem to be making my life any easier. Whether a pump will help I don’t know. But I’ve got to wait for one of those!

Feeling…tired/fatigued, hungry, (constantly) fed up, depressed, low, hopeless and really struggling mentally and physically!!
I used to feel constant hunger as well, sometimes insatiable hunger. That didn't change until I eliminated sugar, bread, pasta and rice. Instead of sandwich I'll have a low carb wrap, fill it up with lean protein and salad, make it tasty, add some grated cheese, avocado, mayo or sugar-free sweet chilli sauce. The less refined carbs the less hunger I feel and cravings disappear

Please be aware that the OP is a recently diagnosed T1 on insulin and a diet very low in carbs may not be the best solution for them
