Welcome to the Forum. Not sure if we still have any Members here on Warfarin. I do remember one but she hasn't been around for a long time.

No experience of this other than anecdotal so this link may help. It can all depend on what anti-Diabetic drugs you are on ?

I would imagine you are well aware that you may need to avoid foods rich in Vitamin K when on Warfarin. Foods - vitamin K rich foods - vegetables (brocolli, brussel sprouts, lettuce and spinach) or liver, can reduce the anticoagulant effect of warfarin.

A change of diet can affect the INR levels.

Terry,

My father took warfarin after having his heart valves replaced, I seem to remember he went for a blood count every 12 weeks, if this is the case with you then it could be a good oppertunity to ask the cardiology team about your diet and warfarin.

Sorry bit late missed this
I am given Warfarin injections by Dist nurse but only when bed bound , average one in four weeks
Told not to take Statins Did not matter to me as i do not take them anyway

Statins can enhance the effect of warfarin, which may increase your risk of bleeding.

You should have regular blood tests to monitor the effect of your statin on the warfarin, especially when starting or stopping a statin or when changing the dose of statin

Only thing i can think off
As all T2s seem to be placed on a statin as normal parr for the course treatment.

Hi
I took warfarin for 7 months after heart attack, was diagnosed type 2 at the same time.I did not find the inr altered with either the insulin or when later put on metformin and gliclazide. The green veg were the things that altered the inr and leads to more frequent testings.
I also took/take statins as well
