Hi,

I joined the diabetes type2 testing programme , when I was invited. by Diabetes.co.uk . That was 2 weeks ago.

My money was taken on the 20th. February,

The goods were due to arrive on the following Thursday - Saturday. (Last week)

Nothing has arrived.

It is now the 26th. February (Wednesday) and no sign of a courier with the promised kit.

Please is anyone else experiencing problems.??????

I I have contacted 3 times asking , what is happening, NO REPLIES

Please can someone help me to sort out this problem.

So far since joining the Diabetes.co.uk, I have nothing but praise, I have found a lot of help. Im just surprised not to be able to get any contact at all,

I applied as well, probably about the same time as you and my kit turned up yesterday. Hope yours has now arrived.
Thank you for answering Sue, , Hopefully then as you received yours yesterday I will soon hear the courier knocking at my door.
Like you I am diet only, carb counting.

The courier has knocked on my door this morning. So have received the Kit. Thank you. Now to get busy , and watch the videos , Many thanks for the Manual etc., very helpful

Glad you have now received them. I too am watching my carbs but not cutting them out. Have done low carb and its great for bg's but hard to sustain when you have a family (well it is for me anyway) so am testing what I eat to make sure its working out ok. I have still to watch the videos as have been busy with work, etc so need to find the time to just sit now and look into this properly.

We certainly do need the videos so we do it properly. Im fortunate in that My children are all grown up, so not too bad , keeping to low carbs, But do remember how hard it was when I was looking after my MIL, She was a diabetic, with all my five children still at home, to keep to her diet and cater for our family. I am learning something new about our health every day.

Hi Nanonet

Know what you mean, my children are older now but my two sons are still at home. Basically, if I cook a meal I just have the same without the potatoes, etc. If I dont want the same, I just cook something different for myself. I will check everything out at the weekend though when I have more time as I dont finish work until 4 today, then go and get my hair cut, cook dinner, etc, and then my friend will be over tonight with a bottle of wine which we will have between us. So a busy day planned.

Sounds like you're in a good place though with regards to diet. Have a good day.

Hi Sue,
I have been using a monitor since I was diagnosed 5 months ago, it was a great help, the strips were so expensive though, so could not use it as often as I should. Anyway using it, I found out that the soy milk I was using was pushing up up the mmol/L so switched from sweetened to unsweetened, I hadn't even realized that one could buy sweetened and unsweetened. Also changed my cereal to Weetabix instead of cornflakes, my breakfast reading was then within the guide lines. I found other foods were pushing me too high, like the bread I was eating , on the diabetes co.uk I researched, found that lots were using Burgen Linseed Bread instead, tried it, and hey presto I am now happily within the Nice recommendations. So when I saw this Type2 Diabetic testing programme, I signed up, so much information, learning a lot I did not know, I was never sure when to test, the plan that is suggested will be very helpful -Plus - a lovely thought- the cost is much much lower .
The video's are great, and well worth the time to watch them. My husband likes watching them too. :O)
All the best with checking everything out. Looking forward to hearing how things plan out for you.
Hugs Shirley (Not sure I should use Winnie - my favourite bear- cos he likes honey :O)

Hi Shirley, will be checking the videos today or tomorrow.

I dont eat cereal of any kind any more - usually have eggs and bacon. I did the linseed bread but thought it was horrible so havent bought it again.

All we can do is try our best and it sounds like you are winning the battle. I have gone back to low carbing - day two today and so far so good, will let you know how I get on.

Hugs xx

Hi,
Today I told my Dr. about the type 2 testing programme, and how much it had helped me to understand, what to eat and what not to eat. He had never heard of it. He is very pleased with my blood glucose levels.
Hugs Shirley
Low Carb Diet only.
