I joined pretty much as soon as I was diagnosed last October, but I doubt I'll bother renewing. Balance is vacuous to the point of being a sort of Take a Break (but remember to mention the big D) magazine, and when I've tried asking the helpline for advice I've had a flat "I don't know". Not "I don't know, but I can find out", just "I don't know". I'm still waiting for the leaflets on diet they promised to send me last January...
