Hi, :)

After reading various comments on a recent Topic regarding alleged bad treatment to a Diabetic. (That topic did get a little hot).

I thought how come that person did not wear some kind of simple identity to his condition that would be seen easily. ( maby he did)

Through this forum I obtained one at a fair price.

What views and advice do you have regarding wearing these identity Tags,Bands, etc; :?:

Roy. :)

my daughter refuses to wear any kind of jewellry stating she has diabetes so i found a keyring glucotab holder with the medic alert and diabetic on it which she carries with her keys....this appears to be acceptable and useful for when she hypos. she also has ICE appt on her phone with details on treatment and my mob number....

when she.s older she wants a medi alert tattoo on her wrist...im happy with that too as she will always have diabetes xx

I think they are a great idea, I don't wear one myself but do carry a card in my wallet saying I have diabetes with contact details etc.

I wear one when I walk far enough to be at risk of hypo'ing. It can come on very sudden for me, and I've been accused of being drunk once or twice. I would like there to be an ID for someone to find. Mine is bright pink and looks a bit like a festival bracelet - has ID on inside and the medical sign on outside - if you look.

Think I mainly did it to make a friend of mine happier/less worried while I was still learning it all - but still tend to wear it when I am out on my 10 mile walks, or I put it on my bag at the beach so it can be found. I like it.

I am old enough to not care what anyone thinks, and I don't think anyone really notices unless they need to.

I am going through a lot of changes in medication recently and have opted for a UTAG ice usb wristband. I can just plug it in and change the information as I need. I bought a couple of extra coloured straps to change.
