It's a tad high. You should be under 7, preferably seeing a 4 or a 5. (https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes_care/fasting-blood-sugar-levels.html) How are you doing the rest of the day, around your meals? Metformin doesn't do anything at all about the carbs (which turn to glucose) that you eat, and as long as your blood sugars are high around meals, your liver will think you're supposed to be that high... So in the morning, it'll dump glucose to get you started. Metformin does actually do something about THAT particular dump, but if you're still seeing sevens, that kind of indicates you're quite high the rest of the day. If that makes any sense at all.
