Hi I'm a 21year old T1 diabetic. I have been suffering with dizziness light headed ness and tunnel vision when ever I stand up or excerpt myself in. Any way. I went to see my ruse for my annual check up and my pulse was over 140BPM and my blood pressure was extremely low. It feels like I'm key tonic all the time but my sugars have been really good for the past 3 weeks. I have not controlled y diabetes at all for nearly 5 I have been lying to myself and my doctors telling them I was doing my sugar tests and taking my insulin. Recently I have had a moment of clarity and told my doctors everything. Now I'm putting weight on again but that has been the only plus ATM. I'm physically weak all the time and tired. But I have been told I have this autonomic neuropathy. Can't see any light at the end of the tunnel here. Does anyone else suffer from this and have any advice? Thankyou

I suffer with AF (atrial fibrillation) brought about by AN and have to take Sotalol every 6hrs to keep it from reoccurring. I was also told that keeping good control over my diabetes would help keeping attacks at bay.
The AN also affects my digestive system for which I take Lansoprazole to control stomach acid and Fybogel to help food on its way through, but again good diabetes control also helps.
There are some other effects but with good control over my diabetes these have not progressed into anything worse.
The medics can only advise and make treatment available, but its only you that can take the action necessary to treat it, so it is your choice whether to act like an ostricth or do something about it .. it really is your choice and only your choice.
I chose to take advice!

There's an explanation here Chips about Autonomic Neuropathy:

Your HCP's will advise you on treatment options, however you do really need to start looking after yourself better and remember to take your insulin and test your bg regularly, don't be afraid to ask for help as there is help out there but you do need to ask first and remember to attend and take your bg diary, perhaps asking your DSN to enroll on a carb counting course such as DAFNE could be a step in the right direction for you.

chips.
Dr Richard Bernstein has written a bit about autonomic neuropathy. I trust his writing, because he has so many years of treating Diabetes patients and is a lifelong T1 diabetic himself.
