DIABETIC CAF'E

kimiwolf

Newbie
I am looking to start up a business in the north east of England. This business is a diabetic cafe that will provide good, honest sweet home cooking but without the nasties like white flour, sugar and dairy products.

My motive for doing this is that I am heartbroken every time I see my diabetic husband's face when some new sweet treat comes onto the telly.

I suppose the reason for me putting this out there is because I am looking for a financeer. I have my business plan all laid out for people to see on request (provided they are genuine financeers). I thought, where better to look for endorsments and funding for this than a diabetic forum? This caf'e I have in mind will provide all the sweet treats most diabetics wouldn't go anywhere near, like ice cream, milk chocolate (that doesn't give you the runs or taste waxy), milkshakes, spotted **** and custard, jam spond and custard and so on. How can she do all this? I hear you say.... well, anyone who's ever had to adapt recepes for diabetic consumtion will know. I'm not going to give myself away too much, mind you. I would dearly love all your feedback, and, please, anyone wishing to help with funding my venture, please email me at [email protected]. I have the drive and motivation, all I need is a "little" cash.

What a great idea I'd love to be able to go to a diabetic
Cafe where I don't have to worry about what I'm going
To eat cos everything on the menu is suitable for diabetics , and if I was rich I would definitely
Finance you , I hope you get what you ask for good luck .

Diabetes cafes .... All join up under one name, and get Tesco to buy you out... They already bought 49% ownership of one brand of coffee shops! Sure they would latch on to thiis

Hello Kimmi

If you are looking for funding why not try a crowd funding web site like www.kickstarter.com/ or http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/ or crowdfunding.com/ www.indiegogo.com/ and others

It gets people to give money - small amounts you give something in return and hopefully you will make your target money required, please note some need you to reach your goal before releasing any money, so if you ask for £5000 you need to get pledges from people totalling that and within the time period you have specified e.g. 30 , 60 days etc.

However some crowdfunding web sites allow you to collect funds and pay out all the money less a fee so if you received pledges of £4000 on some schemes you would get that money, Best to check their terms and conditions before sigining up.

You cna set up crowdfunding projects for anything, just look at what they are running currently, you never know who is out there who might fund this, but say if you started your "rewards" at £10, most people would be able to cointribute that, just think for £5000 you would need 500 people just sending you £10 and I think on this forum there are 53,000 members so you only need only around 1% to pledge £10 each and you may have enough to get you started. OK the figures have been plucked out of the air for this example, but I hope you can see where I am coming from.

Best of Luck

MIchael
