Diabetic control figures - England 2011 - Not great reading

I don’t have time to delve into it, but at least some of the above data updated will be in the audit reports here:

https://digital.nhs.uk/data-and-information/publications/statistical/national-diabetes-audit

about to go to bed, so if my thoughts below miss something obvious that’s why, tired…

that Twitter link you post says no stats for normal diabetic levels, well if 72.5% exceed 48, then 27.5% are below and therefore not T2, understand of course that this in prediabetes so not the full picture.

Also, are saying nearly 70% of T2 are under 7.5, for NICE guidelines that’s something they might see as a successful statistic, would be interesting to compare more recent to potentially draw some conclusion on impact of advice. A few figures here doesn’t allow for much analysis or conclusion.

whilst low carb arguments are possible, this link and trying to build an argument around it feels rather weak to me

Eatwell plate is really something
The 'Eatwell Plate' was replaced by the 'Eatwell Guide' in 2016. The latter has some changes to the recommendations such as eating less sugar. https://www.wcrf-uk.org/informed/articles/how-does-eatwell-guide-differ-eatwell-plate

A recent study found that only 0.1% of the general population were actually meeting all of the Eatwell Guide recommendations and only 30.6% were meeting at least 5 of them. https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/10/8/e037554 It would be interesting to know whether these percentages differ in people with diabetes.
