 Is there anyone here Diabetic and have hydracephilis?
Diagnosed type 2 just 3 weeks ago, not much info other than a magazine and a very brief chat with practice nurse.
Have to say this site is amazing and has helped me a great deal. but there are other issues to deal with.
another 8 weeks before I go to the "educational" diabetes clinic.
Brain can't take in too much info at once, am having some serious headaches trying to deal with it all.
Need some advice on eye problems I've been told about. already had problems with eyes due to paplodema (sorry for spelling)twice. was almost blind the last occasion. eyesight is very poor as it is, people just love to scare you with stories ( not on here)
If you can offer me any advice I'd be most grateful thanks

i dont know much about hydracephilis, and tbh, i know very little about Papilledema except that it can cause significant blind spots. i work in an optitians, so i have some (only some, i only do admin) knowladge about diabetic retinopathy and such. the short version is, bad blood sugars makes for bad blood vessels, if one of the blood vessels in your eye leaks because of this, and gets fluid on a certain part of your eye, it stops that part from working. as long as you maintain some control with sugars and whatnot, it shouldnt be much of a problem.

not much use tbh, but i find it helps to know whats going on, even if you cant stop it.

Candyman, more of a help than you think. sometimes just a wee explanation is enough.
Thanks for replying.
