I have type 2 diabetes, I have burning sensation in the skin next to my knee joint and at times the tingling in my lower legs, my diabetic nurse adviser says it's nothing to do with my type 2 diabetes, could be a back injury. any ideas please, I am not too sure of her diagnosis,

Without further examination there's a good chance it does have nothing to do with the diabetes.......

see the GP....;)

It could be diabetic neuropathy - but equally it could be a vitamin (B12 or D3) deficiency, or a mineral deficiency (magnesium, potassium) or any number of other conditions. I think I'd skip the nurse and see a doctor.

Unfortunately, there are a number of different possibilities to cause those symptoms.

Yes, Diabetes is one, but so are nerve problems like a pinched nerve, vitamin B12 deficiency, and others.
You really do need a proper diagnosis, and if your doc is unhelpful, then you have various private options available, such as paying to see a chiropractor or osteopath (pinched nerve) or paying for a B12 blood test.

Good luck!

It's very easy to attribute any ailment to diabetes. Because diabetes impacts the cardio-vascular system which is pretty much all of you; people tend to put 'the diabetes' down to everything that's wrong with them... Without tests and/or examinations by a professional, it's anyone's guess.
