Diabetic pen and HIV?

No Mac you're not offending anyone,I really think ,though that you should see a doctor about your anxiety problem.Once you have that under control then all the rest will fall into place and your life will be a lot less stressful!

its true, i am on a waiting list for CBT so hopefully i can get these thoughts out of my head soon.
Its all very distressing

Yes I can imagine it is very distressing living your life worrying about every little thing ,I think you should probably stay away from medical things especially on the internet as you can imagine yourself having all sorts of things!!

The net has fueled many a fire of fear

Ive had atleast 4 people say i have prob got HIV because of this needle pen

Then, will all due respect to them, they are idiots!! Fuelling an already anxious ridden person like yourself is just cruelty!!I hope you have taken on board the fact that it is not likely now.

Absolutely, they are idiots - and malicious idiots at that  For all it getting a lot of press coverage HIV is, thankfully, a relatively rare disease in the UK. Estimates are that approximately 0.12% of the population are infected - that is slightly over one in a thousand. The only way to get HIV is to have direct blood to blood contact with one of these infected person (such as sharing an unsterilized hypodermic syringe) - and the blood needs to be fresh. Even if you do this, the chances of infection are a lot less than 100% (a remember a figure of 1% - which sounds about right). Your chances of getting infected with a dry finger-prick lancet are a lot less than that. The chances of your mother or your sister being infected are a lot less than that of a random person (because many infected people know that they are infected). This all makes the risk unbelievably tiny. Honestly, if you went to get tested you would probably be more likely to be hit by a meteorite on your way to the clinic than you would be to get a positive result.

BTW please don't start worrying about meteorites now - that was just the least likely thing that I could think of!

Hey , can somebody tell me that , is it OK to pricked my own finger after checking blood sugar level of my mom's ? She don't have active hep or hiv . ?
Do I have any risk ?
I'm waiting. ...

Yes but put a new lancet in before you test and then change it again for your mum to use next time
