Hi all, I just wanted to speak
any one listen :?:
well, I am Amr, 27 from Egypt
I am here coz first I am Diabetic (type 1) and I like Britain
I just wanted to speak, I got diabetes when I was 10 years old, suddenly, and I went into a very high blood sugar and no body around me noticed that then a some idiot GP here didn't discovered it (you know 3rd world countries medical  ) until I almost left the world for about 3 days and wake up again to be told that I am in a new world :? , at that time I was a very active student, almost every school activities I was sharing in and I was the head of that students' union travelling alot for comptetions and things like that , buy not more, my mother prohibited me from all that and she even dedicated a driver to take me to school and wait me to be back and no activities are allowed especially sport, I remembered that one day I played football without her knowledge and for my bad luck I got injury in my hand, she gave me a very hard day of punishment
She thought that by that she is taking care of me, you know , I don't blame her at all, it's just a big shock for her I am not blaming her at all, I love her and she cared and spent her life just caring for me, and I haven't had any complication antill know
, then when I moved to college, I totally forgot that I have diabetes and for me it was just the insulin injection, avoid sweetly food and organizing my meal times and I get back to every thing as a complete young, but of course that childhood period affected me a lot , I wasn't fit and I was kind of loner and actually until now, I don't like gathering and crowded places
Anyway the problem came out when I graduated and I was ranked the second on my class, I got a job, but here you have to pass a kind of medical committee, and when I made the required exams, they told me that you have diabetes, I laughed  and told them that I know, it's since I am child, the doctors didn't wanted to sign my acceptance and that I am fit to be an ENGINEER, I shocked  and asked for the reason he said that he can't take the irresponsibility if I got a hypo or something like that especially coz I am Electrical engineer and it makes it more complicated, I went to complain and then I made a lot of complains until I discovered that what he did isn't legal but a lot of people who are in his position do the same in purpose so I change the committee so some other one signed my papers and by that he gets out of any future thing happens to me in work and then he is not responsible and in the safe side, anyway after about a week of complaining and arguments, I got my paper finally signed and I enrolled in my job then after all that efforts I found it's not my best job and I quit
Another opportunity, I lost because the interviewer knew that I am diabetic so he cancelled the offer and I knew that from a friend works there and of course he told me that in private and if they knew that he told me, they could cause him a blame or a problem so I didn't do anything
Any way I work now as a freelancer and searching for a full time one, I am NOT saying that diabetes is the reason or all places I applied for treated me the same, NO, I applied for companies and places have a FULL complete equal opportunity, I am just saying that there are places and some PEOPLE who treated me as a disable person (one day I admired a girl and she told me that if we married she doesn't want to have children with me cause they will have diabetes like me
)
Anyway I am not writing those words for any purposes or whining and plz don't be annoyed by those idiotic sick people
I am writing that coz I wanted to speak and I want to have British friends so I thought telling my story like all people here would break the ice and I got pen-friends
more about me:
well, I like MotoGP, F1, WSB, BSB, WRC, ..Anything with machines
..., But Motorsport isn't famous at all in my place actually I am the only one among my friends
Anyway I like Britain and it started to know about it thanks to Top Gear (I know they don't like bikers especially Jeremy )
and I know a lot about it (from internet of course  ).
I have the dream to visit Isle of Man and Scotland one day
I hope to make some British pen-friends so I could find some one to speak with about bikes, cars, machines, ...... and by the way DIABETES
So plz any one interested ? it would be great
I can speak English very very well, you should have noted that  .
hope to get a reply especially from women who accept a diabetic men (I am kidding of course :lolno: )
Thanks
Amr
