Type 2 Diabetic shoes

Hi,
Can anyone offer any advice on buying comfortable and wide shoes please. I have had type 2 for 15 years now and recently my feet feel as though they are being made sore by restriction of the shoe. The shoes I buy are wide fit and made of soft leather. Does anyone know if barefoot shoes or boots are suitable for diabetics? Some of the diabetic shoes styles are not great looking, so what is the alternatives available please? Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

I just go for good fitting comfortable sensible footwear..
Some can be cool.

My current favourite casual is a pair of Sketchers styled on a 1980s trainer but in black without all the lairy neon colour scheme..?

Decent seamless socks also enhance the comfort..

Hopefully. Others can help in your quest for the ideal shoes..
 
I second @Jaylee ‘s choice of Skechers, I wear orthotics recommended by my orthopaedic surgeon, this combination of shoes and insoles I find very comfortable.

Diabetic shoes is that really a thing??

I wear Sketchers for work, need something comfortable for my 12 1/2hr shifts, then just normal shoes other times. Boots in the winter cos if I wear shoes my feet get so cold.
 
I have very wide feet (EEEE) and I find some styles of Skechers very comfortable. Slips ins are great - don't need to bend down to put them on.

It sort of was 5 decades back when I was a kid.
It all seemed to be about “feet” back then.?

I remember getting a pair of Dr Martens boots.
Quite fashionable too, at the time..
 
Hotter shoes do wide fittings. Expensive but they do have regular sales.
