6 month diabetic review with practice nurse. Going over medicines.
Me: I’ve stopped taking my 10mg Atorvastatin.
Nurse: “You need to take it not just for cholesterol but because it will prevent heart attacks and strokes. Diabetics have thicker blood”
Me: On balance I don’t think I need it… I’m 75, female, overall cholesterol 3.6 and last A1c was 41! Blood pressure is spot on and I’m fit and active.
Nurse: “But but but diabetics have thicker blood”
Me: Let’s see how these latest bloods are and I will consider my options.
How I’m wishing I hadn’t bothered saying anything about stopping taking the blessed tablet.
