Where is everyone?
Last night I dreamed I was in Amsterdam. Working in a department store.
I have no idea why.

Hahaha that's a particular strange dream. Did you like it ?Last night I dreamed I was in Amsterdam. Working in a department store.
I have no idea why.
Wouldn’t you need Dutch for Amsterdam?Yes, it was a nice store and my coworkers were nice. But none of us spoke French.
I think that's what woke me up!
Yes it did thanks together with ibuprofen and paracetamol almost a full night's pain free sleep.Did the brace help, @JohnEGreen ?

Good morning everyone. Not good here today. It is blowing a right hooley. Very unpleasant, but at least it isn't raining .... yet.
Yesterday I went to the garden centre for some indoor plants and new pots. It was a last minute decision to go because I have a hacking cough, so I just threw my big coat and bobble hat on. The coat was mainly to hide the scruffy slobby clothes I was wearing, and the hat was to hide my untidy hair. I was bending down looking at something when I heard someone behind me shout my name. I was trying to be incognito because I looked like a cross between a bag lady and a witch. Horror upon horror, it was none other than my diabetes nurse. I told her I was sad she had recognised me looking like I did. What a lovely person she is. She told me she is still trying to sort out the problems with my HbA1c being done in two labs from the same blood draw - it worked the first time last June but did not work the second time in December. She said she hadn't forgotten me and is determined to sort it all out. I said it might be better now to wait until my next blood draw in June this year, so she told me to book an appointment with her personally, she would do the blood draw and make sure all the paper work was as it should be rather than see the normal health care assistant. I only usually see the nurse once a year in December for my face to face review. I call that excellent service. She is a star.
I don't wear any nightwear and don't possess any
You should be happy you didn't get arrested, wearing nothing but pig slippersI just dashed out as I was, in my childish novelty pig slippers

Ha ha ha. They weren't all I was wearing - I probably had my knickers on.![]()
This is encouragement to me to not put off going shopping just because I haven't been awake long and my hair is a mess. I put on a warm coat and my tassel hat and go buy what I need (usually cat food) but so far I have not had any chance meetings that made me glad I did.
@Guzzler, one of the coolest things I ever experienced when traveling was speaking German with a bank teller in Paris back in the early '70s. She tried French, and when I could not respond other than to say "I don't speak French," (I did know that much), she switched to German. I could manage that.
At the horse barns here I learned enough Spanish to say things like "I am cleaning the red horse's bridle," but then my friends expected me to be able to give directions such as "Don't turn out the Swedish Warmblood mare tonight because she is a little off in her off hind and we think she might have a touch of navicular and the vet is coming in the morning."
Poor Licia didn't get a chance to speak to anyone herself because she was so busy translating...I remember once being in my mother's front room when my step aunt and some of her friends visitors from Europe came round one couple spoke German but not English some one else spoke French and Italian but not German or English I just speak English and that not well but a smattering of a few other languages my step aunt though spoke about 13 languages so had to interpret for every one she her self was Italian and a professor of English. Licia not only was fluent in all 13 languages she could read and write in all of them.
