Or just get out of the cars and onto the train and raise a bottle. Only of water, which has no carbs, and not in a toast, which has plenty.
 
Morning all

Up at stupid o'clock 'cos of cramp but had a cuppa and catching up on some TV.
It's -3.2° outside and there's a pretty frosty pattern on the motorhome roof.

@Antje77 just seen the fibre post. No one should pick another poster up on spelling or grammar, even jokingly as we all have different language skills and, of course, many on here use English as their second language.

Statistically correct but not exclusively confined to the poor.

I thought it was a bit simplistic. Her own daughter had childhood asthma, which in itself contradicts the above statement, and IME none of those conditions discriminates among income levels, although poverty can certainly prevent people from getting needed health care.
 
It can also lead to poor diet and nutrition but the wealthy can also have more opportunity to make bad choices when it comes to what they eat.

I suppose if someone born into poverty is genetically predisposed to develop diabetes, and marries someone similar in situation and heredity, and they have children, and so on and so on for generations, there could be seen a tendency for "the poor" to be afflicted by diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc., but coming from an otherwise well-educated woman working at the time in health care, I just thought it sounded simplistic.

Or maybe I've just gotten more thin-skinned, since I am "afflicted" with both diabetes and hypertension. Although having both has made me more conscious of what I eat, what I weigh, and how my body works.
 
And Asthma is generally thought to have elements of genetic and environmental factors.

I do have Asthma and have been hypertensive also there are always manifold reasons for many conditions that seem to plague the world social status just being one factor amongst many Michelle should realize that and not make generalisations.
 
I agree, @JohnEGreen . One reason it got under my skin is in the rest of her autobiography (where I read that) she comes across as very perceptive and reflective. That particular statement was such a contrast.

I was diagnosed with mild asthma as a child. I was never prescribed an inhaler. 30-40 years later, when a different doctor sent me to a specialist, he found no evidence of asthma but did diagnose me with mitral valve prolapse syndrome dysautonomia. Apparently the symptoms of asthma when I was a child and young adult were really caused by the MVP, as well as environmental factors (gas heat in our house until I was 11) and other allergies/sensitivities.
 
Can someone please help ,Not Diabetes related except the frustration my drive my BGs up !!I was going through the TV channels on my Roku when I found a programme about the Dublin SPCA I watched a few episodes and really enjoyed it Now I can't find it I can't remember the name of the programme or the channel

My cat is an idiot. At the moment I touched my needle to my skin to inject he hit it with his paw. Nothing bad happened, except I had to use a new needle because dirty paws and the first one was bent.
 
It was a toss-up for me between clicking the laugh or the hug. The hug won out.

So far, the most the KittenCat has done is to take a sudden leap right across me just as I was jabbing my finger. Usually she either just sits beside me and watches (no doubt thinking this is some interesting new way of preparing breakfast), or paces the floor yelling for me to hurry up and prepare something she can actually eat.
