Diabetics R Us

Good morning from sunny Lancashire.
We are signing the contracts on our house sale and purchase today. Big downsize, so loads of stuff off to the charity shops. A lot of packing and sorting to do before completion, which is fairly soon. Our buyer wants next Friday! He will be lucky.

Sounds great, where do you sail? I have a small yacht at Portchester, sadly under utilised due to 2 hour drive to get there which is becoming more difficult as I get older. I should have done all this 40 years ago, when I was skint. LOL
I sail in the Netherlands, mainly on IJsselmeer and Waddenzee and the Friesian lakes and channels. Usually on traditional flat-bottomed ships with paying guests :)

We did the same in 2016 downsized so know what you mean about trips to charity shops

Good luck with the move

Thanks. We will need all the luck we can muster.

So far 9 big black bin bags of books have gone to the charity shops, and there are 8 more waiting to go. That just leaves 5 shelves in a book case with ones we are keeping. It is breaking my heart letting these go. It took ages just sorting them. I even found an old library book stamped in 1966!! Naughty me. I daren't even mention the old furniture that is going to charity, plus a skip to hire for the rubbish stuff. We also have 2 separate lofts yet to explore. My head is all over the place.

Hope you are not moving out of sunny Lancashire Ribble Valley ?

A small but mighty win in our house! My middle son has been a picky eater since day one and wants absolutely no truck with LCHF but he has just told me that butter (Kerrygold in particular) is just the best thing on toast. This may seem unsurprising but it has taken me a year to get him to change over from margarine.
Now I just have to convince him that celeriac chips are far superior to those you get at the chippy..... this may take a little longer.

I let my whole Agatha Christie collection go

Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Including one I bought second hand years ago with the last 2 pages missing!

Just ordered a big skip. It is arriving early in the morning. I will undoubtedly still be in my dressing gown and unwashed. Someone may throw me in. ;)

This has made me giggle

Ordered a skip too and half a dozen trips to charity shop

And still in our new house there are 2 cupboards full of clutter from the old house

I don’t envy your move a mighty stress but once everything is moved in you can chill - we ordered a takeaway for delivery at night as cba cooking

It isn't pleasant, is it, but hopefully worth while. I hope it has been for you. We are planning on a pub meal that evening, and taking daughter and family as a treat for helping us on The Big Move Day. Then home to flop in bed. If we have a bed that is! Fingers crossed the new one arrives in time. Come to think of it, we may have nowhere to sit if the new settee and chairs don't arrive in time! If all goes to plan they should all arrive, then we have a week to sort ourselves out before we go on holiday, and boy! we need that holiday.

I'm afraid that won't help. Bit awkward to shout "Bluetit" to everyone with a dog like yours to see if it's you...

I would answer to Bluetit. :) and my dog will answer to most names. :hilarious: Not many of them around, so not to difficult to distinguish. If you see a dog you think is a French Bulldog or a Boxer puppy, think again. It may be a Boston Terrier. Mine has vaguely floppy ears.

Hello all,
Sounds like the weather has been good everywhere today. I went back to work today and it was ok. I have tomorrow off! So a 1 day week must be good......... You've all been doing and planning such exciting things! I'm driving up to Telford tomorrow for another archery weekend.
I need a bigger house not a smaller one! I can't get rind of my children and their clutter. I wouldn't have it any other way though.

Yes worthwhile
The garden was massive at the old house the main reason for getting s smaller house with a teeny weeny garden

I was struggling to maintain the garden hence the move

Ah, I just googled bluetit, and it's a pimpelmeesje :) That makes shouting bluetit to random strangers with a small dog with floppy ears a little less awkward. I must admit I had been wondering about your name before and I hadn't come further than imagining some nasty accident involving a slamming door and your chest area. I do love pimpelmeesjes!
