@Antje77 I had to look up pruimen strudel, then clicked on your profile to find out where you are but I think by the time I had got there it would all be gone. ;) :)

I can only deduce 21 SD

Thanks Cumbs...........I wish.........no actually I don't.........I'd have missed a lot out of my life, though there are parts that I wouldn't have minded to have done so.........confusing isn't it..........doh..........:bag:

I'm surprised you could even google pruimenstrudel, as strudel is a German word, but pruimen (Dutch for plums) would be pflaumen in German. We in Holland don't use the word strudel, except in apfelstrudel but there we use the German word for apple as well. My old neighbour is originally German but has lived outside of Germany since the war, first in America, and now for a long time in the Netherlands. I think that explains her easy use of multiple languages in one word :)

But if you come by, I'll be happy to ask her to bake another pruimenstrudel for us! This is the first time I have tasted something she baked that didn't either taste like cardboard, nor was burnt or half raw, so I won't mind her repeating this.

I had a significant birthday recently.........my daughter......bless her......sent me a card wishing me a "Happy 21st Birthday Mum".........you may find this unusual but as she runs a laboratory she only works in Celsius........you can work it out with a thermometer if you really want to.......but I really appreciated the thought......... :joyful:..........:)

That was a lovely idea from your daughter. I make it 70, which is the same as me. :)

Morning all

After going to bed at 8.45 last night I was wide awake at 2am :banghead: but only 2 more sleeps (if I get any sleep) till our trip through the tunnel

I'm going to be busy today, work backed up after being off and leaving early yesterday

Have a good day.

H :)

The Google did come back with a load of German links for the recipies for 'pruimenstrudel' and from that I just about managed to work out what it was :hilarious: It's only when I looked at your profile and saw where you lived that the penny dropped. :)

Evenin' all

As predicted I was very busy at work today.

Hope you've all had a good day.

H :)
