Diabetics R Us

Morning all

I won't shout in case there's some hangover sufferers after last night's party :hilarious:

Have a good day.

H :)

Because I was late to the party I ended up partying alone. So...... I'm soooo loved this morning. Ha ha

I wonder what today will bring? Mr ickihun isn't well. Looks like throat infection with shivers. He's agreed to see gp if no better after the 4hrly meds for a few days. I can manage him but I don't want to come across blasé or he'll think I don't care. Far from the truth. He gets pampered just like kids. Oh a man with manflu. Poor thing. (Giggling). I've had about 40 such problems since meeting him but I get offered nothing. I think once because older son offered a hot coffee which he was too young to make Mr ickihun interviened. My son makes the coffee in my absence. Mr ickihun is allergic. It seems. Humf!
I shouldn't complain as Mr ickihun washes my hair and bath assists. I'd be in far more pain without him but I won't allow to be 100% dependant on anyone. The world doesn't work like that anymore. Not many can cope with the responsibility. Shame. Society has created some very unusual dead wood.

Funnily enough I had a not to dissimilar situation last night except it was me having to reassure Judith that I was going to survive the night without medical intervention. Which I obviously did.

I'd had my flu jab my sugars were way too high and the myasthenia was being particularly nasty.

The 70s, the decade that style forgot. What fun!

My daughter was born in 1970. I was a young mum with a husband I grew to dislike, in a teaching job I hated, divorced in 1973, then things improved. Changed careers, married a childhood sweetheart in 1976 and moved to live in the town where I still live and love, along with the same childhood sweetheart. It was a bit of a mixed decade for me.

Sorry, I left the party before you all got drunk. My bed was calling me. So I am feeling fine today. :)

You missed nowt! It ended up with people taking carbs and fighting!

Mayo with chips is much better.

I'm not a lover of mayo but his ketchup had obviously been cut with summat else, it looked like Netto's own label and that's what started all the fighting. It was like a bar room brawl in a cowboy movie in the end. By! I enjoyed it ;)

Just lots of butter on the bread for me, with piping hot chips, press down on the bread, the butter gets melted and no need for ketchup. I love mayo, but on chips???

Agreed. If you don't go 'ooh ooh ah ah' when eating a chip butty then the chips are not hot enough therefore someone has failed in their duty. Tepid chip sshould be an offence against the law. And French fries should stay in France! They go cold too quickly and are completely tasteless.

100% agree. Nothing like home made deep fried chips. Bit of salt and vinegar, and oh so delicious. I'm drooling now.

My 70s is a bit of a blurr ..Number1 baby born in 64 ,no 2 in 66 no 3 in 71 .Musically no 1 son went from "My boy lollipop " to Black Sabbath !! How does that happen Things got easier as they all grew up Then no 4 turned up in 84. Family plan was 1 boy and 1 girl but we doubled that !!
They have all grown up to be fine young people.

To me, the best accolade one could possibly acheive or be awarded is for the fact that one's children grow up to be nice, well rounded human beings.
Despite my best efforts my sons are nice men ;)

My daughter was born in 1977 she at 41 is still sort of findingh er way , even though she has a 23 year old son, but is a good person and a joy to know.

My son born 1979 is now a Franciscan Friar and just starting a degree in philosophy at Oxford is a great well adjusted totally laid back person who when in his teens was approached by a TV producer who was looking for super cool looking student types for a fly on the wall reality program he wanted to make, but it never got filmed.

Grandson born in 95 is at 23 is an amazing person who despite no formal education due to ill health has just started a degree in economics. Two years ago he decided he was going to university every one said no way but there he is.

So I count myself lucky to have such a good bunch who have turned out so well despite being saddled with me as a father and grandfather all down to the wife I think.
