hello everyone , I am new here and have not only questions but a new fear. I saw my doctor today and I was informed I am very close to diabetis stage 1 if I don't change diet, also on the verge of high blood pressure. That's where my problems start I also have a rare disorder with my blood I can not eat green veggies as it thickens my blood like surup, I am on warfarin daily . I don't know where to start with food I am terrified , I downloaded your rescipe book and will look at it later, does anyone have any suggestions as for food
I certainly hope you can help

because of my blood I was eating beets ,corn ,turnips, cauiflour ,,roast beef, chicken some fish , not able to have a lot of fruit ,coffee ,tea, milk .and cottage cheese and kraft cheese , the only fruit I can have are blueberries only .Now with my being on the boarder of diabetes I guess maybe experimemt with food

Yes, do tell us what you can eat. For diabetes, keeping the carbs down is important. Protein and fats are OK.
I"m eating beef, chicken, some fish , beets, corn, turnips, cauiflour, blueberries, , cottage cheese, kraft cheese , mushrooms .I drink coffee and tea the odd cup of hot chocolate. no pork , never had pork in my life . Im goint to keep a journal of the foods I try to eat. with my blood I cant take anything for colds or flu etc very few spices .

May I ask why your dr says you are close to diabetes. Have you had blood tests etc and if so which ones. Just trying to understand what close means. The first thing in your list I would stop is the hot chocolate and I hope your tea and coffee is without sugar. Many diabetics will not eat beets/carrots etc as they raise BG levels. I find raw carrots are fine for me. Meats and cheese should be fine

Your food looks good. Maybe you could test your blood glucose levels when eating beets, corn and cow's milk as they can affect levels.

One of the posters here, I think it is Beachbag, makes hot chocolate by melting 85% cocoa chocolate in unsweetened almond milk. Not sure if that would agree with you, but it sounds lovely. All the best.
