Thankyou Catherine, its a subject that concerns me a lot. I knew a woman with this problem and have come across several others online.
There doesn't seem to be either enough awareness or enough help for people affected (and although adolescents predominate they are not all young girls as it affects women of all ages and some males) or for parents who suspect the problem.
For anyone who is interested this quite long and academic lecture is a good explanation of the problems and possible interventions. (it takes a good 10 minutes to get into the diabetes part as it sets it in a background of ED in general)
