Type of diabetes
Type 2
I was diagnosed type 2 at 40 years old. I've never understood it. I was put straight on insulin but after 4 months I also went into honeymoon for about 4 years. It then came back in vengeance. Insulin did not suit me this time and I went onto victoza in the end. Few more years and that has stopped and now on some once a week jab called lucidity or something like that name lol.
Tried talking to nurse about type 1.5 or late onset and all I ever get is a blank look.

If you don't need insulin that means you are making your own. If your making sufficient insulin to not need to be taking injected insulin 4+ years after diagnosis it's unlikely you are type 1.5 / LADA. The symptom that is the key giveaway someone might have been misdiagnosed type 2 when they are type 1 is significant untried for weight loss. If you think you may be type 1 ask for a GAD test which tests for the antibodies associated with autoimmune type 1 diabetes.
