HI I was diagnosed T2 recently and have had great success with weight loss following Tesco online diet for lo fat diabetic and dairy free ! My cholestrol is dropping however my blood sugar is not so i have been lo carbing. My collins gem is my new bible! Exercise routine is being wrecked by the weather as it is based on walking.(i'm very good at slipping over!)I have two super daughters and a husband who is helping me to come to terms with all my health issues.
I had a discussion the other day about online diet plans, that one was about WW. I see you use Tesco.
What all these plans have in common is they ARE good for weight loss. However what they are not usually good for is for Bg control for a Diabetic. In fact some are so full of carbs it is a travesty to say they are suitable for Diabetic's !
With every eating plan you need to check out the total carb figure for the meal, not the sugars which is all these plans promote. Carbs are more important as they encompass sugars. Starchy carbs convert 100% to Glucose, just what a Diabetic doesn't need ! So before embarking on any of these 'Diabetic Friendly' plans do your homework. I am sure now you are low carbing or even reduced carbing you will see a difference in those numbers.
As for exercise just 30 mins housework, racing around after the kids, or just some ordinary resistance exercises makes a good substitute for walking. I use resistance bands which are very good, take up no room and give you a good workout getting the Heart pumping. Very effective.
As Totsy has said, give us a typical days menu, it might help us to help you although if you are already low carbing it may not. Are there any other Meds you are on, including anything not Diabetes related. Sometimes these can have effects on Bg levels....we can check them out for you.
