Can anybody help my wife has just found out she is type 2 she has been on the tablets for 8 days and still has some diarrhea is this normal can anybody help.
 
Which tablets? If its metformin then it should settle down after a couple of weeks....

What are other side effects of taking Metformin?

Other side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, upset stomach and flatulence. Taking Metformin with meals can help to diminish these side effects. Some diabetics experience an unpleasant metallic taste when taking Metformin.
 
I found metformin SR gave me fewer side effects (nausea mostly) than normal metformin, so that might be worth a try.
