Diarrhoea on Metformin after 3 years?

Has anyone else had a recurrence of metformin mr side effects after taking for several years successfully.Over last few weeks, i have had episodes of painful and urgent diarrhoea at odd times of day and night!!any help welcomed as month until diabetic review

If your medication hasn't changed I'd make an appointment with my GP if it lasted for more than a couple of weeks.
