I was having trouble injecting on my thigh and finally I got it then after inserting it halfway it hurt so bad I pulled out and it bled a few drops. I'm anxious I hit a vein or something it left a mark and it hurts. I was using a new needle. Should I do something other than cotton alcohol swab after it stops

Happens every once in a while, no problem.

It is more likely that you hit a blood vessel (some seem to be closer to the skin's surface than others).
I quite often bleed or bruise when this happens but it has little other affect.

However, if you hit a vein, this may cause your insulin to work much quicker.
(Some people do this intentionally when they want a fast correction. I have never tried it.)
Therefore, it would be a good idea to check your BG more than usual and have your hypo treatment close to hand.

I pulled out before it got too bad so I didn't inject in that spot. I think why it bled more. Had to wait for the bleed to stop it was more than I was used to so I got worried.
