Surely the best position is avoiding medication.
Why would you want to medicate just so that you can eat bread? If you follow that argument to absurdity you would take an antidote so that you could imbibe some particularly tasty poison.
Your body doesn't like carbs - just accept it!
Personally I love bread and pasta and museli and lots of things which raise my BGs, but they are bad for me, so I have given up carbs completely in order to avoid medication - apart from morning porridge which I know I'm going to work off by lunchtime anyhow. I know that this is right for me so that is what I will do, I cannot understand why I would want to do anything different.
