Hi All,
Ok, I've got my head around the fact that diabetes is a very complex thing, it affects everybody differently and allows everybody to treat their bodies in different ways.
Before I start, I realise my BG levels are still very high, I'm still learning but I feel absolutely fine.
So I'm trying to work out what I need to do in the way of excersise, I work shifts... 2 dayshifts followed by 2 nightshifts followed by 4 days off. I usually go to the gym on my work days. I'm not a gym freak, I don't pound weights or push myself to the limits, I just do what I need to do, to keep myself today I noticed that my BG levels were kinda high on my pre meal test (12.6). I had brekkie then went for a 15 min run and 15 min cycle. My BG had dropped to 11.7 by the time my 2 hour post meal test came around.
Again tonight, I was 22.3 pre meal. Did a little 10 min run, 10 min cycle and 10 min row after dinner and it dropped to 16.5 by my 2 hour post test.
Obviously my evening meal test results are the most dramatic but it highlights an issue to me, yeah my BG is coming down but is such a dramatic drop a good thing, especially when I'm expecting the reading to be higher.
So when is the best time to excersise, should I change from my 4 working days to a slightly smaller amount, daily after meals...???
What's your experience??
Sorry for the amount of long winded posts, I just have so many questions while I'm figuring this out.
