I am really not a happy bunny with this cycling bug. Will I feel better if I call it something - the Wiggins bug??
Was quite hot last night and the sinuses get clogged which starts the coughing again. After a few good days went to bed on 6.9 and got to FBG 9.2. At least it only went to 9.5 pre breakfast. Coming down now but it is irritating.
Brother has had it was weeks and is experiencing the same as me. It actually dawned on me that may be why his paraprotein rose since if he gets an infection his impaired immune system gets distracted by the infection rather than fighting the cancer cells.
As usual they reckon it's viral so just has to run its course. Brother annoys me at times because he doesn't mention it to them 'it's just a cold' but it isn't and in his case they would prescribe something. I certainly agree you catch everything and anything and it runs on for weeks on end whereas normal people would be done in a week. I'm also exposed to bugs with being in and out of nursery and school. The little dears are such harbingers of all things bug wise.I wonder if your doctor could prescribe something to help? I know they don't like prescribing antibiotics for a cold but what you've got is far more than that. From the way you describe it, it sounds like you've got a chest infection.
I remember the first time after I was diagnosed, the DN told me that diabetics get every bug going and get them worse than non-diabetics. She was definitely right about that (if not much else).
Your brother really ought to see his doctor as his body can't fight of both things at the same time without a bit of help.
My FBG was 6.5 this morning and its a fasting day for me so it probably won't start its downwards turn until about 2ish and then come down to a 'nice' number until just before dinner. The only problem is I don't know when dinner will be tonight. Mr C is stuck at work with no car to get home (they sent a car and driver to get him this morning).
If on LCHF you should not be taking metformin.. see doctor for advice. This is what i was told when a started LCHF over 12 months ago bt mt GP and was taken off Metformin and statins ...
I feel for you @Chook. As you'll see mine are even higher. The sore throat is there at night and in the morning and remains until I have an attack of this hacking cough. Dull headache and I just want to sleep. Boys go home tonight so thankfully it's a quietish day. I did point out to brother that it could be this bug that is affecting his levels and he has promised to tell the consultant when he sees him on Thursday. He did question would it not show up in the constant blood tests but answer to that is not necessarily As 1) they don't know they are looking for it and 2) it keeps going away and coming back. I am sure like me you just wish it would go away and stay away.Boing - the plague bug has come back again. Went to bed at 4.8 last night and woke up to an FBG of 7.7, a sore throat and a headache. Mr C said I had a very restless night. I'm glad I'm fasting today because I don't have any appetite.
I'm still sticking with it just don't feel like too much cooking. I stick to scrambled eggs and 2 rashers crispy bacon as I like it and I'm not bored with it yet. Yesterday I had that chilli Salmon dish again with trout because it is easy and I know it off by heart now.Its all gone very quiet on this thread - have we all given up with the Diet Doctor way of eating?
Its an eating day for me - lovely - I had scrambled eggs and bacon for my breakfast (made with soured cream and butter) and my BG went down a bit almost immediately. It was 7.7 when I woke up and 6.7 an hour after breakfast. Maybe I need to eat a big breakfast every day (any excuse for a fry up)
I love the chicken farms Masala - one of the nicest even though it's made with cream.I'm having a go at the chicken Garam masala tonight with some cauli/broccoli florets fried with cumin seeds to accompany. We will have the rest on Friday and I'm going to try making the garlic naan bread from the DD site to go with them
I thought it was a new brandHow did autocorrect get 'farms' from 'garam' .....
The naans have never stuck for me. If you are talking about when you are rolling I roll between 2 sheets of greasproof paper. Ist time I had crumbly edges but not the second time. I want to have a go at their garlic bread soon as I have a container of chicken liver pate in the freezer calling to me!I love the chicken farms Masala - one of the nicest even though it's made with cream. Please let me know how you get on with the naans, they've stuck every time I've made them.
@Brunneria I've not tried the lasagne - probably because I don't much like normal lasagne. I must go and have a look at the recipe.
I've just had mackerel fried in butter for lunch - very nice, healthy and relatively cheap.
The garlic bread is very nice - just, for me, takes half as long again for the baking, although that could be my oven. I make the rolls quite a bit and they are nice, too - just a lot of psyllium husk which has next day consequences. If you know what I mean. The naans have never stuck for me. I do indeed! Do you use a fan oven or a regular one?The garlic bread is very nice - just, for me, takes half as long again for the baking, although that could be my oven.
