Diet Doctor Low Carb Challenge

Being rounded makes us sound voluptuous and intelligent. The perfect combination.
 
Well this well rounded person still has the taste of garlic and I can smell it everywhere. I really wanted chips with my Diet Doctor burger and as I said I am developing a serious addiction to garlic coated celeriac chips. I didn't want the creamy sauce with the burger (delicious though it is) so I had a portobello mushroom as a 1/2 bun with lettuce and a tomato and I mixed mayo with chilli paste and tomato puree but these chips.....so far I'd made them in a pot stirring them over with garlic salt and oil. Tonight they headed for the oven with paprika and the garlic salt. Really filling and delicious.
Not sure what BG is up to. That was a weird spike today for no reason but at least it came down again quickly.
Alcohol free Easter Sunday - I'm driving. Sister actually feels well enough to cook Easter lunch.
 
It's amazing what an overnight stay in a house geared up for carbivors does to you.

After a very traumatic evening I went to bed on 4.6, woke up (after a very disturbed night) to 5.1. An hour and no breakfast later (couldn't find anything suitable) it was up to 7.4 and two hours after that - as I was sitting in a Toby Carvery just about to have a HUGE breakfast - it had gone up to 9.2!!! I knew something was very wrong because I was getting that brain fog/drowsiness thing. Anyway, we then stopped off at a Lidl on our way home and me and Mr C shared a punnet of raspberries. By the time we got home BG was down to 7.2 and is now down to 4.8.

I'm now just left feeling exhausted - I'd forgotten how those high numbers take it out of you.
 
I've got a weekend at my parents' coming up which may be similar! Taking some macadamia nuts with me to try to stave off the DP as they don't breakfast until 9.30 - may take some Babybel cheeses too
 
How's everyone's Easter going? It's pouring with rain here at the moment which spoils our plans for some gardening. Although Jack would disagree... he enjoys a spot of digging to bury any bones he can find. It's pretty obvious that he hasn't had a marrowbone before - he didn't have a clue what to do with it.

In the end I decided not to make the hot cross buns because I'd only eat them - all of them - until they were gone. I'm not good at delayed gratification.

This morning's dog walk was lovely though - the cherry blossom is at its peak. Next time I get to that park, it will all be on the ground.

Mr B is working later, so it is a quiet day here, maybe some gardening, if the rain doesn't keep me inside.
 
Been to church and shared lunch. Home now to a glass of red and reading work paperwork.

Need to check out ideas on DD to cook our hake and stir fry
 
We had an opinionated idiot and his wife over for dinner yesterday. Apparently (according to him) it is impossible for me to have stopped using insulin - either I have never injected it or I'm lying about not using it now. Something to do with I would only have been prescribed it if my beta cells weren't working and they wouldn't start miraculously working again now. I feel so sorry for his wife (quiet little mouse type woman).

We've known them for about 20 years and he's getting worse. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now. They use our house as a free hotel when there's snooker on in Sheffield.
 
Haha! He may be on the TV now (don't point him out, if he is ) sitting in the snooker audience.

Mr B was just commenting on how there is a guy in the crowd wearing a trilby, who must be really annoying the person sitting behind him.

I wonder if the next time they want to stay, you might find it inconvenient... ?
 
If you see a woman knitting in the audience he'll be the man sitting next to her. She's obsessive about her knitting.
 
I always say never again - but he's Mr C 's friend from way back so I feel obliged to make the effort. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't think he's a world class expert on anything he reads an article about.
