Dietician today

1200 per day calories is enough to make you lose weight FACT-although it is NOT sustainable for an active adult and your body has most likely gone into starvation mode so when you do jump to 2000 calories per day you will more than likely pile all the weight back on+more....Source? been there done that with a similar low cal-low fat diet years ago.

I don't intend to jump to 2000 calories. As you found, back to uncontrolled eating and you're back to the starting point. I intend to increase portion size, eat carbs I don't react to, and introduce some fat back in over a period, while maintaining a constant weight, and keeping active. So from calorie deficient to balanced, but not to excess again.
As to starvation mode, I've still got enough fat reserves left to keep that off for a while, so another 1/2 stone or so and I'll be happy.

Afternoon all

Dietician was a waste of time TBH.

I was "squeezed" in between appointments as she was booked until may. Spent the 15 mins i had pretty much arguing about carbs.

I spoke to her about this forum, and she kind of agreed, but she had to follow NICE guidelines?

Anyway, pretty much ignored her advice on starchy carbs, been eating low carb and doing ok i think.

Thanks for asking
